Start your story at our Schaumburg, IL location as an IT Technician II In your role as an IT Technician II, you will be responsible for the daily Help Desk support functions by fielding, documenting and prioritizing telephone and email requests from the CTCA user community to troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
Responsibilities: * Provide Level II support for all open tickets and requests which are escalated and assigned from the Lead IT Technicians. * Troubleshoot hardware and software problems related to desktop computers including but not limited to: print servers, printers, PDAs, video conference systems/projectors, and peripherals (removable media, scanners, etc.). * Perform hardware and software installations at the desktop level. Responsible for all new PC configurations and deployments, as well as for redeploying used PCs throughout the organization. * Record, track and document the Help Desk request and problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions, actions and resolutions. * Work on multiple, moderately complex projects with minimal technical or managerial guidance. Education and Experience: * Experience with Apple MAC computers is a must * An Associate's degree in the field of Computer Science or Computer Engineering is required; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management or Information Technology preferred. * 3+ years of IT experience, primarily within the areas of desktop support, help desk and hardware troubleshooting. * 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Suite, including Windows 2000, XP and Office Professional. * IT experience within a multi-facility healthcare organization is preferred. * Hands-on experience with desktop and server operating systems, including Windows XP and MS Office 2000. * Extensive background in troubleshooting hardware problems, including but not limited to: towers, laptops, laser and dot matrix printers, handheld devices, VoIP, wireless networking, LAN/WAN connectivity, and peripherals. * Above average oral and written communication skills. Must be able to convey key technical information to non-technical users.
